We experienced some problems converting certain file types with Cucusoft’s DVD to iPod + iPod Video Converter Suite. But in most situations, Cucusoft’s software is above average. If you set the program specifications to match your iPod, you’ll have a fairly high-quality MP4 to watch.
The iPod Video Converter Suite’s advanced settings seem more basic than advanced, but they work well and are easy to use.
The criterion that keeps Cucusoft out of the top five is support. They have standard help and support features, but for quite some time, their email feature has not worked. We sent several emails and received the same automated message.
Special Note: We’d like to inform readers that according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 it is illegal to use software that breaks or circumvents DVD encryptions. The software reviewed in this site should only be used for placing DVDs and videos on your iPod that do not include copyright protections, i.e. home movies.
